Project Description

As part of GHACEM’s commitment to enhancing production efficiency and optimizing its manufacturing processes, the Liquid Storage Tanks Plant was developed to provide a modern, integrated facility for the storage, transfer, and mixing of liquid additives at its Tema operations.

TEP Africa was entrusted with the end-to-end delivery of the facility, undertaking the civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical works required to transform the project from concept to reality. Working within an active industrial environment, our team coordinated multiple disciplines to ensure seamless execution while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

The project commenced with the construction of reinforced concrete foundations and supporting infrastructure, creating a robust platform for the tank farm and process equipment. As the facility took shape, storage tanks were erected, interconnected through an extensive network of process piping, and integrated with pumps, electrical systems, and instrumentation designed to support efficient and reliable operations.

Throughout construction, quality assurance remained a key priority. All critical welded systems underwent independent non-destructive testing to verify their integrity and ensure long-term operational reliability. Equally important was our commitment to safety, with the project achieving more than 15,900 man-hours without a lost-time injury, reflecting a strong culture of planning, accountability, and safe work practices.

Successfully completed and handed over in February 2026, the WAMIX facility now serves as a critical component of GHACEM’s production process. By providing dedicated storage, controlled transfer, and precise mixing of liquid additives, the facility enhances operational efficiency, supports product consistency, and strengthens the plant’s overall production capability.

The project stands as a testament to TEP Africa’s ability to deliver complex industrial infrastructure through integrated engineering expertise, disciplined execution, and a commitment to creating lasting value for our clients.

Behind the completed facility was a rigorous quality assurance process, including slump and concrete strength testing, Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), insulation resistance and continuity testing of the electrical works, and precision pump alignment, ensuring that every critical element met the required standards for safety, integrity, and reliable operation.
